On the evening of May 17, The Tennessean and The Commercial Appeal reported that legislators are considering a special legislative session to take up a new effort to pass a statewide anti-transgender bathroom discrimination law. How about we lead the south in non-discriminatory legislation instead of jumping on the jackass bandwagon? Feed our poor, Insure Tennessee, and worry more about predators in your own house instead of our bathrooms where there has NEVER been a problem.

This would be.an indefensible waste of taxpayer money and legislative time. The legislature should address real problems like passing a statewide living wage, improving educational standards, childhood poverty and homelessness, and prison reform rather than politically motivated nonissues like this proposed potty policing bill.

I’m straight, Pagan and republican. I have friends and family that are not. Transgender people have been using bathrooms that they identify with for years. I have a very good friend that was recently afraid to go to the ladies room while out shopping. She is a wonderful person and I could never see her for anything other than a woman. This hate has to stop! Fear mongering and uneducated pure hatred has made this state the laughing stock of our country along with NC.

Please stop it with the attack on people’s rights hidden behind a facade of righteousness. You’re making most Christians in the country ashamed. Non-Christina are already appalled at your legislative stances. Durham is a bigger bathroom that to women than any trans woman has ever been. Don’t punish public schools when you lose millions in tax revenue from businesses and organizations boycotting us because you are a concentrated reduction of ignorance percolated into a hate potion.
