No special legislative session for bathroom discrimination!

On the evening of May 17, The Tennessean and The Commercial Appeal reported that legislators are considering a special legislative session to take up a new effort to pass a statewide anti-transgender bathroom discrimination law.  Sign YOUR name to the statement below and we'll deliver your signatures to legislative leaders:

Dear Speaker Ramsey and Speaker Harwell:

We oppose a special legislative session to consider an anti-transgender bathroom discrimination law.  It is never justified to spend the state's time and money to advance discrimination.  Thank you for considering our views.

    Politicians should be concentrating on job creation, lowering taxes and saving constituents tax dollars instead of screwing around with narrow minded attempts to regulate everything under the sun. Do Your Jobs!!

    The U.S. Justice Department is suing North Carolina for passing such a bill. If Tennessee does the same, you can be sure they will investigate and follow the same conclusion. There is no excuse to let such discrimination exist, much less “rule” Tennessee. I do not stand for or tolerate such lack of integrity, disrespect of human rights and bullying that is evident in the people who even suggest such things within our state. They do not respresent the people who make Tennessee great. They instead are the ones trying to destroy our state.

    Absolutely no reason for creating a special session and no reason for creating this type of law. Let’s focus on real issues and actually do the work in the general session instead of costing tax payers more money for lazy and hateful politicians.
