Tennessee Equality Project's sixth annual Mardi Gras celebration and Gumbo Contest will feature competitive tasting of 16 gumbos from 15 teams, Tennessee craft beer, New Orleans jazz from the Hot Memphis 4, awards for best gumbo and local Champions of Equality at the Bridges Center in Downtown Memphis on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 4:30 - 7 PM.
Gumbo teams in the contest may win the People's or Judge's Choice competitions. The People's Choice competition is won by popular votes cast by tasters attending the contest (their ticket stub is their ballot). The Judge's Choice competition is chosen by a panel of 5 judges invited to taste all of the gumbos. Meet this year's panel of judges.
