We don't know the exact date, but SCOTUS will announce what we expect to be a favorable decision on the 6th Circuit marriage case during the last week of June. Tennessee Equality Project and the Memphis Gay & Lesbian Community Center invite you to celebrate and mark the occasion.

We'll gather at 5:30 PM on the day of the SCOTUS announcement at MGLCC at 892 South Cooper Street - whenever that day happens!

We invite you to participate in a photo campaign for couples to show how long they've been married. We'll have poster board and markers for couples who come to the event and take pictures of you holding signs with a caption like "legally married in TN after _____ years together". Bring a copy of your out-of-state marriage certificate to celebrate recognition of your marriage in your home state of Tennessee in a photo.

Depending on the hour of the announcement, there may be a few couples who make it to the Shelby County Clerk's office to apply for a license. We hope to have officiants on standby to solemnize marriages at the celebration if time and logistics permit.
