On the evening of May 17, The Tennessean and The Commercial Appeal reported that legislators are considering a special legislative session to take up a new effort to pass a statewide anti-transgender bathroom discrimination law. This is despicable. If the absolute idiocy of such an unnecessary and hurtful bill doesn’t get through to the legislators, what has happened to North Carolina economically as a result of their passing such a bill certainly should give them pause. Also, the Federal government has said it is unconstitutional, and it could cost Tennessee a great deal of federal money if it passes. And, it adds to the previous attempts of the legislature to make us a worldwide laughingstock.

We realize that the Republicans in the legislature are filled with hatred and bigotry, misunderstanding and a complete lack of education on LGBT people. They also use religion as a reason to discriminate and Jesus never discriminated or judged anybody. I will NEVER vote Republican again because of this and I vote in every election.
