Matthew Seddon signed VETO Hate Bill 1840, the Counseling Discrimination bill 2016-04-06 11:38:03 -0500I voted for you Haslam as well as many that may not admit it so you need to realize your voters don’t want this bill Based on 1973 changes of American psychiatric association. Homosexuality is not a disease or a mental disorder. so it can not be a reason to discriminate. Based on any religion.
This bill devalues Christianity and any organized religion to the core. Judge not. Jesus walked with whom? Lately Jesus walked with everyone that many organized religions discriminate against or won’t welcome into their church??!!
If some people in power from many organized religions keep using the bible to hide behind bigotry fear and or hate you will in return start or keep starting to devalue and destroy religion and anyone that maybe on the fence to believe. This is the true definition of the devil. Speak as if you are and destroy others of less value or condemn.
Act as if but not as if you are cause only one is the Lord. Help feed help the homeless. Build shelters half way houses drug rehab centers runaway houses and help the oppressed. What is religion a bunch of beliefs or an example of God on earth. Setting rules or helping people get up and get better.
End rant.VETO Hate Bill 1840, the Counseling Discrimination bill
Please, add your voice and urge Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to veto this discriminatory bill.
Dear Governor Haslam,
We urge you to veto HB1840, which allows counselors to turn away clients based on the counselor's biases and values. This bill puts the focus on the desires of counselors rather than on the needs of clients, damaging the counseling profession and putting clients at risk.
An anti-bullying amendment was stripped from the bill in the House Health Committee leaving youth vulnerable in areas where mental health services are not widely available.
Thank you for considering our views.
