#UTDiversityMatters Students don’t want this bill to become law! Faculty don’t want this bill to become law! Campus is united in solidarity against this bill, because it would cause incredible harm to so many of us.

Please veto this bill governor. As a student at the university of Tennessee it hurts to see such discrimination against minorities that will fall victim to this bill. I understand that it is a lose lose situation for you and I wish that it was not that way. Our society today in this area of the US dictates that you should pass it to be re elected. I just ask that you think about the people that you will be taking opportunities from if you do not veto this bill. Everyone deserves these opportunities. Not just people in engineering or other majors that will create more revenue for this institution. We should be about education not money. This is coming from a chemical engineering student. I wish you all the best in your decision.

As a UTK alumna (class of 2013) it is disgraceful to see the TN legislature stooping so low. Defunding the office of diversity will only harm the University. The office of diversity works to ensure that UTK is welcoming to ALL students, something UTK needs considering some of the negative racial incidents that have taken place on campus in the past few years. You want to make UTK a top 25 institution? Then the legislature needs to stop defunding vital parts of the university!
