Please, join us in encouraging Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to fight against this attack on transgender students.
Dear Governor Haslam,
We call on you to do everything in your power to lobby against passage of SB2387/HB2414, the anti-transgender student bathroom bill. We also ask that you VETO the bill if it reaches your desk.
The bill endangers vulnerable students and it risks significant U.S. Department of Education funds to Tennessee. If this bill became law, the enforcement would be a nightmare for school districts across the state.
Show the world that Tennessee is a welcoming state. Thank you for considering our views.

We worked through this in our place of business and she was successful there for many years. As rare as this occurs, each school can work through these issues without state mandate. Transgendered students are the most at-risk for abuse and homelessness. How can we, in good conscience, give the full weight of state law to further marginalize them.

Shawn Hughes signed 2016-03-21 05:10:43 -0500We’ve got to keep fighting discrimination in this state , Governor. You can help make our state great again by calling for an end to all legislation targeting any group for discrimination. We have bigger problems to worry about, with so much time and tax payer dollars being wasted on frivolous, unconstitutional legislation , none of which are helping anyone. Our state is actually very diverse from one border to another, and it’s about time our leaders represented us all, not just one group. After all, it’s not just one group that pays taxes in this state, and we’re tired of our hard earned money being spent on unconstitutional legislation targeting any group based on another group’s religious beliefs of any kind. The religious right already has the freedoms and protections they’ve asked for. Now, how about some equal protections and rights for the rest of your citizens?
