Dear Governor Haslam,
We ask you to veto SB1085/HB1111. This bill, as the Attorney General has noted, is broadly written. Its vagueness could result in conflicts with existing laws about judicial interpretation. These conflicts are likely to cause discrimination against LGBTQ people, particularly with respect to marriage, adoption, and legal documents. This bill risks subjecting Tennessee to the same scrutiny that North Carolina has received. We cannot afford hundreds of millions of dollars in economic boycotts and sanctions. Please, veto this bill so we can avoid judicial chaos and costly discrimination. Thank you for considering our views.
Molly Sylvis signed Dickson County Commission: Vote NO on anti-marriage equality resolution 2016-01-14 11:56:12 -0600A human’s right to make their own life style choices is more important than someone being uncomfortable with something that does not concern them just because they are religious. If you ask me all these Christians got it wrong with how we should treat and respect one another. It’s embarrassing for the county of Dickson.242 signatures
We call on the members of the Dickson County Commission to vote NO on the so-called "states rights" anti-marriage equality resolution up for consideration on January 19. Dickson County government should not divide the county and attack its residents.
