“Calendar Committee” Both House Calendar Committees schedule bills for the floor after the bills pass the committee system, so a bill can be held by Calendar Committee.
“General Subcommittee” is an intangible place—kind of like purgatory but not really. (Bills just sit there barely on life support but still breathing.) Each Committee, in both the House and Senate, has its very own General Subcommittee with the exception of the Calendar Committee.
“Taken off Notice” A bill cannot be placed on a committee calendar without notice to the bill’s sponsor. This status can change from week to week depending on notification by the sponsor to put the bill “back on notice”.
